Toy Story 5 Trailer Might’ve Confirmed a Wild Pixar Fan Theory

The latest Toy Story 5 trailer featured an exciting clue for fans who enjoy Pixar fan theories. The final Toy Story 5 trailer has given us a closer look at some of the upcoming movie’s animated sequences, including a detail that might connect the film to a popular Pixar fan theory.
Toy Story 5 is directed by Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris, with Lindsey Collins serving as a producer. It stars Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Greta Lee as Lilypad, Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, Tony Hale as Forky, and more. The highly anticipated movie arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026.
What’s the new Pixar fan theory connected to Toy Story 5?
At the 1:20 mark in the final Toy Story 5 trailer, Cusack’s Jessie can be seen on the back of a real horse with her trusted sidekick Bullseye. When Jessie pulled the horse’s mane, she seemingly gained control of the animal. This move is very reminiscent of 2007’s Ratatouille, which featured the main character, Remy the rat, also pulling on the chef’s hair to control him. Jessie riding the horse could potentially connect Toy Story 5 to the popular fan theory that all Pixar movies take place in the same universe.

The Pixar fan theory was created by Jon Negroni in 2013, after he noticed that 2012’s Brave included cool Easter eggs featuring a wood carving of Sulley from Monsters Inc. and a wood model of Toy Story’s iconic Pizza Planet truck in one of the witch’s cottage scenes. Because of this, fans started analyzing all Pixar movies to see potential connections that could further support the Pixar theory. One of the popular speculations revolves around the mysterious identity of the magical witch from Brave. Fans believed that she might actually be Boo, the young girl from Monsters Inc., which could explain the Pixar Easter eggs found in Brave.
At the moment, the Pixar theory has a dedicated fan-made website where interested moviegoers can see how each movie possibly fits into the franchise’s potential unified timeline. However, it’s best to remember that the Pixar theory is only a fun experiment for fans who love watching these movies. The Easter eggs and connections found by fans in Pixar movies have never been officially confirmed by the studio to connect the movies.
