Michael Connelly's 'Nightshade' to be adapted as HBO Max series

May 28 (UPI) -- Writer-producer David E. Kelley is adapting Michael Connelly's novel, _Nightshade_, as an HBO Max series.

No casting has been announced yet for the show, which will be called _Welcome to Catalina._

Deadline.com said the first season is expected to include 15 episodes and will follow former Los Angeles County Sheriff's detective as he is transferred to low-crime Catalina Island.

Connelly posted a screenshot of the report on his Instagram page.

The best-selling author's work has already inspired the Netflix drama, _The Lincoln Lawyer,_ and Prime Video's _Bosch, Bosch: Legacy_ and _Ballard._

Kelley is known for his work on _The Practice, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, Big Little Lies, Big Sky, The Lincoln Lawyer_ and _Margo's Got Money Troubles._
